2. Information Stored on Your Device

Equitem Horse Riding Journal stores the following information locally on your device only:

• ●Rider Profile: Name, experience level, riding disciplines, biography, and profile photo.
• ●Local User ID: A randomly generated identifier stored on your device to associate your data. This ID is not linked to your identity and is never transmitted.
• ●Horse Profiles: Horse name, breed, age, sex, height, photos, and notes.
• ●Training & Activity Data: Session logs including activity type, duration, intensity, goals, reflections, ratings, equipment used, and location name/coordinates.
• ●Health Records: Health incident descriptions, treatment details, severity levels, and related photos.
• ●Care Tasks: Scheduled care activities such as vet visits, farrier appointments, worming, dental, and other recurring tasks.
• ●Nutrition Data: Nutrition plans and feed logs for your horses.
• ●Equipment Records: Equipment type, brand, condition, purchase date, and photos for both horse and rider equipment.
• ●Calendar & Events: Planned events including competitions, clinics, lessons, and training routines. Events can be synced with your device calendar (with your permission).
• ●Photos & Media: Images you attach to sessions, horse profiles, health incidents, and equipment records. All photos are stored in the app's local sandbox on your device.
• ●Preferences: App theme, onboarding progress, and display settings.

3. How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used solely within the app on your device to:

• ●Display your horse profiles, training history, and care schedules
• ●Calculate training insights, fitness scores, and weekly summaries
• ●Send local notifications for care task reminders and upcoming events (with your permission)
• ●Sync events with your device calendar (with your permission)
• ●Tag session locations for your own reference (with your permission)

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Photos and media are stored in the app's sandboxed Documents directory.

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features including device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. The app does not implement additional encryption beyond what iOS provides.

There are no cloud servers, no remote backups, and no data transmission. If you delete the app or reset your device, your data will be permanently lost as there is no external backup.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties.

Equitem Horse Riding Journal does not contain any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising frameworks, or external APIs. The app is entirely self-contained with zero network dependencies.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• ●Access: View all data stored in the app at any time through the app's interface.
• ●Correction: Edit any of your personal information, horse profiles, or records through the app.
• ●Deletion: Delete individual horses and their associated data, or permanently delete all data using "Reset All Data" in Settings. This removes all records, photos, and preferences from your device.
• ●Withdraw Consent: Revoke permissions for camera, photo library, calendar, location, microphone, speech recognition, or notifications at any time through your device's Settings app.

7. Device Permissions

Equitem Horse Riding Journal may request the following optional device permissions:

• ●Camera: To take photos for sessions, horse profiles, health incidents, and equipment.
• ●Photo Library: To select existing photos and save new ones.
• ●Calendar: To sync planned events and training schedules with your device calendar.
• ●Location: To tag where training sessions take place. Location data is stored locally and never transmitted.
• ●Microphone & Speech Recognition: For voice-to-text input when adding session notes.
• ●Notifications: To send local reminders for care tasks, appointments, and upcoming events.

All permissions are optional. The app functions without any of these permissions, though some features will be unavailable. Permissions can be managed at any time in your device's Settings app.

8. Age Requirements & Children's Privacy

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations:

• ●Users under 13 years of age are not permitted to use Equitem Horse Riding Journal.
• ●We do not knowingly request, collect, or store personal data from anyone under 13.
• ●Users aged 13 to 17 should use the app under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring the minor's use of the app is appropriate.
• ●The app does not contain in-app purchases, advertising, social features, or any content unsuitable for younger users.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has entered personal information into the app, you can delete it immediately by using the "Reset All Data" option in the app's Settings, or by deleting the app from the device entirely. 9. Analytics & Tracking

Equitem Horse Riding Journal does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or device tracking of any kind. We do not collect or access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). The app makes no network requests.

10. International Users

Because Equitem Horse Riding Journal stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit any information, there is no cross-border data transfer. Your data remains on your device in your jurisdiction at all times.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws: since no personal data is collected, transmitted, or processed by us, GDPR and equivalent regulations relating to data controller obligations do not apply. You retain full control of your data on your device.

11. Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed. We do not retain any copy of your data as we have no access to it.

To delete your data at any time, you can:

• ●Delete individual records through the app's interface
• ●Use "Reset All Data" in the app's Settings to permanently erase all data
• ●Uninstall the app, which removes all associated data from your device

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page and within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
